Yellow Dog Friendly Event

We are proud to announce that the South Wales Dog and Family Fun Day was the first UK event to be 'Yellow Dog Friendly' in 2014. We will continue to be ‘Yellow Dog Friendly’ in 2016.

Download and print a copy of the Yellow Dog UK poster and help spread the message!

This event will be considerate of the needs of dogs wearing a yellow indicator, whether this is a ribbon, bandana, jacket or other item, we would ask all of our patrons to give these dogs the extra space that they require. Although we would ask owners not to bring unwell or in season dogs to this event for obvious reasons!

Please respect other owners wishes as they know what their dog can cope with!

Please do not approach this dog or its people with your dog. Maintain a respectful distance or give this dog and his/her person to move out of your way.

We have endeavoured to ensure that our event caters for the needs of all dogs, including those who may have some sensitivities around other dogs.

  • Regular PA Announcements advertising Yellow Dog UK and the Yellow Ribbon Scheme
  • Dog Show Rings will be larger so that competitors have more space between them
  • Separate entrance and exit from the Dog Show Rings
  • Yellow Dog UK publicity material displayed throughout the event
  • Limited Free Yellow Dog UK yellow ribbons available
  • Extra wide walkways between stalls
  • All stallholders requested to display a Yellow Dog UK poster
  • Water bowls spaced out
  • All dogs are to be kept on leads unless participating in a 'Have a Go' activity
  • Please show consideration when waiting for food, browsing stalls etc of all dogs wearing a yellow indicator and give them the space they need
  • Awareness of our 'Yellow Dog Friendly' objectives advertised on our social media

Yellow Dog owners appreciate your help and respect!

Cool To Be Kind

Kim's Home is a sanctuary for elderly dogs or for dogs that for some reason are unlikely to be rehomed. It takes in primarily sighthounds – though other breeds sometimes creep in. Kim's Home will be selling Cool To Be Kind wrist bands at the event to raise funds towards the fantastic work they do with unwanted and abused dogs. The bands cost £2.40 each and have a celebrity following!

Show Facilities

We would like to say a big thank you to Dan James of Dan James Media Ltd for providing us with such a fantastic website.
